With coveted "It-bags" running well into the hundreds, founder and CEO, Meagan Hayes Kamerbeek ventured to create the perfect handbag with a juxtaposition of fashion-forward designs and classic silhouettes that could easily take women from school and work to a range of after-hours events, all without breaking the bank. The Klutch aspires to freshen up a well-edited wardrobe and affordably enhance the next adventure, be it a night on the town with the girls or an exotic weekend getaway.
Meet Meagan
Founder and CEO Meagan Hayes Kamerbeek grew up in the great state of Texas. This instilled in her the Southern sensibilities of putting your best foot forward -- showing up with a well put-together look, planning for a rainy day and embracing the wonderful sisterhood found in family and friends. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, a career in the event industry took her from Dallas to Manhattan. A love for fashion quickly turned to necessity as busy workdays led to client-based happy hours and industry evening events. While sporting the latest It-bag would have been ideal, as an independent, girl-on-the-go in New York, Meagan relied on personal style, trips to vintage stores and family heirlooms to spruce up lackluster handbags for a look that kept her on-trend. Even after returning to Texas, this sensibility followed her while planning for travels and workday duties. Her desire for high-fashion along with a passion for travel inspired her to create a line of handbags that could make the perfect accessory more accessible to every woman. Price was important, Meagan didn't want anything that didn't fit into the lifestyle of women who want to look and feel great without worrying about the cost of adding an accessory to their wardrobe. In 2013, Meagan successfully launched Klutch Handbags. As of Spring 2014, Klutch is carried all across Texas and available nationwide. With a focus on transitional accessories, Klutch has plans to expand to shoulder bags and totes and a stylish luggage line.
