About Sail Away Sea Glass
Sail Away Sea Glass was founded on the principles of ohana (family), aloha (love), and a respect for the ocean. Sea glass is a formed from discarded shards of broken glass that are smoothed and weathered from tumbling across the ocean floor for 20 to 50 years. Sail Away Sea Glass was created by Monika Lang who works in the film industry by day and relieves the stress of it all by creating Sail Away Sea Glass jewelry by night. Growing up next to the ocean in California, Monika has always been fascinated with this process that leaves the glass looking like exotic gems (also known as “Mermaid Loot”). Just like the individuals who wear them, each piece of Sail Away Sea Glass is one of a kind. The sea glass is collected near her family’s home on the shores of Kailua, Oahu. We aim to use ethically sourced materials including our 18K gold plated chain and 22K/24K gold plated charms.
