Name: Farissa Knox
Profession: Bad Ass Business Woman. I own and run two companies with about 10 overall employees. My first company is RLM Media, an advertising agency that just turned 8 years old. And the other is WhatRUWearing, a digital publishing platform with articles, a podcast and video content that we curate to attract the young lady who loves fashion, style, beauty and lifestyle pieces. We also talk to her about her career, relationships and pretty soon, her politics.
Favorite Color: Red
Least Favorite Color: I don’t think I have one. Every color is valuable for expressing how you feel at the moment. So I choose colors that I wear and buy that reflect who I am and how I feel at that moment in time. Currently, I am in a dark and serious phase. Blacks, Olives and naturals.
Style Description: I am going for timeless with a sprinkle of ‘of the times’. I like to be comfortable and look my best at all times. No matter if I am heading to a client meeting or taking one of my daughters to the park. Fit is the key to looking sharp, so I focus on that.
Style Icon: Even though I do not wear anything Chanel at the moment, I love the inspiration I get from the woman behind the brand, Coco Chanel herself. She was a woman WAY ahead of her time and made the most of her creativity in the lifetime she was given. She was timeless and defined a new era for what it meant to dress like a lady.
Favorite Designers/Brands: I am really not a designer or brand person. I wear everything and anything that looks good on me, makes me feel confident and I think is worth the price. I have way more fun putting the outfits together and creating a masterpiece for the day. I will mix Zara with DVF and Maria Pinto any day of the week.
Least Favorite Designers/Brands: Now that I am grown and have used my body to create life, I have to stay away from the cheap stuff that feels like if a strong breeze came through, it would rip in half. I don’t have to name them here. You guys know who they are!
Favorite Shoe Style: I love a classic heel in any color or texture! Sneakers make my feel hurt.
Least Favorite Shoe Style: Sneakers.
What You Love to Wear: A dress is my most favorite thing to wear. In the right cut and color to reflect your mood and what you have on your calendar that day, it is like amour for me.
What You Hate to Wear: Anything that is too small!
What You are Afraid to Wear: Anything that doesn’t allow me to wear a bra. I have breastfed two babies…
What is Work Appropriate/Your Typical Workplace Attire: For my office, almost anything goes. We are bunch of media nerds and creative. So if there are folks in for meetings, I like for people to look together. I call it workplace chic. I dress for my day.

Do You Like to Accessorize (Jewelry, Scarves, etc.)? Not really. I think it’s more about not feeling like I have the time or space for all those small things in my house. I let the pieces I wear and my lip color stand up for my lack of accessories. Also, my wedding ring and bands are hard to compete with.
Favorite Stores/Boutiques: I really don’t get to explore local shopping the way I would like with the life I live right now. Honestly, I love online shopping. It opens up the entire world to me and there are no limitations. And most importantly, there is way less of a chance that someone will have all the same stuff as you.
Style/Fashion Tips and/or Advice: I want every one to try and figure out their own personal style instead of trying to copy what everyone else is doing. My goal is for people to say, “that’s so Farissa”.
Stylish Aspirations: I want to go shopping in Paris at no name shops and local boutiques as a romantic vacation.
Fall/Winter Style Must-Have: Chunky sweater dresses and over the knee boots!
