The office is welcoming, comfortable, relaxing, and the staff is amazing! I signed up to try the Halo laser treatment which for me is great as I have a TON of freckles and some brown spots thanks to my Irish skin ;)
First, I filled out a bunch of paper work for good measure and then went onto get consulted by Dr. Kovak just to make sure I was a good fit for this procedure. After he decided that I would be a good client for this, numbing cream was applied and I had to let that sit for about 45 minutes before the laser treatment.

At this point I am a bit nervous as I have heard from people that have received laser treatments from other places in the past that it can be painful. But the good news is, I can't feel my face at all right now so that is promising to avoid any pain!
Dr. Kovak starts the treatment on my face making sure that I don't want any numbing shots and with declining them we move forward. You guys, I literally felt NOTHING! No pain, no stinging or anything through the short 15-20 minute process.

Although I couldn't feel anything my fair light skin is clearly getting red from the effect of the laser which is expected.

About 10 minutes after the treatment I started to feel a lot of heat and burning as they told me I would once the numbing cream starts to wear off so the staff gave me an ice pack to ease the sting.For the next 5 days I had major dryness which turne… — About 10 minutes after the treatment I started to feel a lot of heat and burning as they told me I would once the numbing cream starts to wear off so the staff gave me an ice pack to ease the sting.
For the next 5 days I had major dryness which turned into flaking and peeling which sounds gross, but it revealed amazing glowing skin, to the point where I wouldn't even need to apply make up if I didn't want to. The laser gave me baby faced airbrushed skin, took of some freckling and brown spots off, but left enough of my freckles so that I still looked like "me".
I would highly recommend this treatment to anyone with these skin concerns and if you are in the Chicagoland area, Dr. Kovak is your go-to guy!
