Stylin' & Profiling: Malina Padgett of Fit +Flatter
Name: Malina Padgett
Profession: Founder + CEO, Fit + Flatter and a sometimes style and fashion blogger in my own right at MalinaPadgett.com
Favorite Color: At the moment, I’m going to have to go with grey. I feel like I change my “favorite color” often.
Least Favorite Color: I actually don’t have one. I think every color has a place. I do have least favorite colors in relation to clothing, cars, etc. but they usually don’t transcend categories.
Style Description: Mostly androgynous with delicate touches. I gravitate towards laid back styles.
Style Icon: I’m super into everything Matilda Jerf wears lately.
Favorite Designers/Brands: So many! I’ll narrow it down to two: Janessa Leoné and The Artisan Row Accessories (TARA).
Least Favorite Designers/Brands: There really isn’t any brand in particular I hate, moreso styles that I don’t like.
Favorite Shoe Style: Boots! Heeled or flat - I love ‘em all.
Least Favorite Shoe Style: For my personal style, I just can’t seem to get behind kitten heels, but we’ve definitely shot them for F+F.
What You Love to Wear: T-shirt dresses, boots, and an oversized cardigan.
What You Hate to Wear: I’m really not into anything body-con. I hate the feeling of being constricted.
What You are Afraid to Wear: The reason I started F+F was because I had such a hard time finding dresses and shirts long enough for my torso. Naturally, I’m always very conscious of the length of my shirts and dresses because I’ve struggled with it for so many years.
What Do You Wear to Work: Most of the time, I work from home so I dress pretty casually. Joggers and a tee. For meetings I go for neutral dresses and trendy heels.
Do You Like to Accessorize (Jewelry, Scarves, etc.)? I’m minimal for the most part when it comes to jewelry - but I am always wearing a ring or two.
Favorite Stores/Boutiques: I love love lovvvve The Undone.
Style/Fashion Tips and/or Advice: Wear what YOU think fits and flatters you. So many women have the mindset that they need to stick to certain “fashion rules” and the truth is, no two women of the same shape, size, and age feel comfortable and confident in the exact same thing. It’s all about figuring out what works for you.
Stylish Aspirations: I’ve always wanted to have a custom suit. I think it would be a great addition to my wardrobe.
Fall/Winter Style Must-Have: Statement boots!
Stay Stylish Chicago,
